Welcome to the official update page for the New Salty Dog Rescue Ranch! This is where we’ll share our journey, milestones, and progress as we build a safe haven for dogs in need.
Our Vision
The Ranch will be more than just a shelter — it will be a community hub where rescue dogs find care, comfort, and the chance at brighter futures. With dedicated spaces for rehabilitation, play, and adoption events, we’re creating a place filled with hope and wagging tails. We are combining our "Puppyland" small dog shelter and our "Mezcales" medium/large dog shelter so everyone is together in one place.

Update: September 5, 2025
Things are beginning to happen...
Update: September 26 to 30, 2025
We have the perimeter started...
Update: October 2025
Here's what's been happening in October! The fencing is coming along for the perimeter. Priming and painting has begun and guess what... WE HAVE WATER!!!
Update: November 2025
Check it out...We have a roof happening on the kennels, we have dogs moving in and it's looking AMAZING!! David, Everardo and Ian have been giving it their all day in and day out! We have also had some wonderful volunteers come out at various times to assist!
Update: December 2025
It's all coming together... Medium/Large Dogs are all living here now and playing and running in the open area! They are having so much fun with all the extra space they have to really run!
Update: January 2026
We have small dogs here now as well! We had a painting party with a bunch of volunteers to get things done! We are so grateful for every moment that you spend volunteering! There is also the foundation started now for a container home for one of our founders! The pad for the biodigester is also completed and we have lights!
UPDATE: February 2026
Things are progressing, more kennels are completed and we have power and beautiful sunsets!
Update: March 2026
March was a busy month! Starting to get the washroom and laundry facility built...
Update: April 2026
Check out the progress on our bathroom/laundry facility! It's coming together nicely. There will be two bathrooms and a shower on one side and the laundry is on the opposite side.
Update: May 2026
Our small dog kennels are getting a better roof for more shade, our bathroom/laundry facility is looking great and the sewer for the trailer is underway! We have a new pen with polished concrete for the handicap dogs to move around easier and the start of the automatic water bowls.
Update: June 2026
We have bathrooms and a shower now! Also another Kennel is up and ready and now housing the V doggies.
Update: July 2026
We have a tree planted (we are up to 3 now). We have coverage for the well and refillable water dishes installed thanks to incredible donors! We have taste tester and a little supervisor...
