He had an owner and there were other dogs. Very close to the ranch. He was rescued by one of our volunteers and was in very poor shape and bad injuries in his back. Distemper survivor. He is a sweet, quiet guy.

Harry is still brand new to us, so we’re just beginning to discover who he is. What we know already is that he’s curious, steady, and adjusting to ranch life with quiet resilience. Juanita’s journey to safety began on January 12, 2026, when Sandra found her by the roadside in San Juan. She had been struck by a car and was unable to walk, her body marked with blue ink and her spirit weighed down by pain. Her rescuer couldn’t leave her there—Juanita needed help, and she needed it urgently. Though her injuries are serious, Juanita’s resilience shines through. Even in her fragile state, there’s a quiet strength in her eyes, as if she knows she’s been given a second chance. She is disabled and recovering, but she is safe now, surrounded by care and compassion. Juanita’s story is still unfolding, and we’re just beginning to learn who she is beyond her hardship. What we do know is that she’s a fighter, and with patience, love, she has the chance to discover joy and belonging. Her past was marked by struggle, but Juanita’s future is filled with hope. She’s ready to heal and eventually find the home where she will finally be cherished.

Life on the streets of Los Mangos (San Vicente) was all Mango had ever known. When our team rescued Ginger and several other dogs, Mango was left behind—alone, abandoned, and waiting for someone to notice him. Nearby, a female dog had just given birth to six puppies, but Mango had no family of his own. Sandra couldn’t bear to leave him there, watching the world pass by from the sidewalk. She scooped him up, giving him the chance at the love and safety he deserves. Born around April 2023, Mango is still just a pup, with his whole future ahead of him. He’s starting his adoption protocols now, ready to learn what it means to be cared for and cherished. Mango’s story is one of resilience and hope. When he is ready he will be looking for a family who will show him kindness, patience, and the joy of belonging.

Born around February 2026, Melvin is a little pup with a big future ahead of him. His journey started in the Mezcales area, where he was being rehomed. When rescued, he had ticks and fleas, but thanks to care and compassion, he’s now on the path to a healthier, happier life. Melvin is still just a baby, curious about the world and eager to learn what it means to be safe and loved. With his puppy charm and resilient spirit, he’s ready to grow into the kind of companion who will bring joy and laughter to his forever family.

Born around October 2022, Skye’s story began in a dusty yard behind Aceros Murillo, where she waited quietly for someone to notice her. On October 25th, our founders received a message: there was a dog who needed help. Without hesitation, they drove out to meet her — and Skye, tail wagging and eyes full of hope, was ready to be rescued. Though her spirit was bright, her body was battling a severe case of TVT (transmissible venereal tumor) cancer. She needed urgent care and isolation. So, with love and urgency, our team built her a quarantine pen at the ranch — a safe haven where she could begin her healing journey.

Skye is now receiving veterinary care and preparing for chemotherapy. Through it all, she’s remained a gentle soul who adores people and perks up for walks. Her resilience is matched only by her sweetness — she greets kindness with gratitude and walks with quiet joy. She’s not just surviving — she’s blooming. Skye is proof that love builds shelter, and hope builds futures.

On March 8, 2026, outside the home of one of our staff members, Tomasa’s life changed forever. She had been wandering alone, carrying a secret—she was pregnant. That very day, she gave birth to five precious puppies. Though two little ones didn’t survive, three strong babies—Trini, Tweety, and Tank—are thriving thanks to her love and resilience. Born around April 2024, Tomasa is still young herself, yet she’s already shown incredible strength and devotion as a mother. Despite her hardships, she radiates joy. She’s a sweet, happy girl who greets each day with a wagging tail and a gentle heart. Tomasa is ready to leave her past behind and step into a brighter future. She deserves a family who will cherish her not just for her bravery, but for the loving companion she is.

Born around January 2026, Wilma Flinstone is Betty Rubble’s sister and partner in adventure. The two were rescued together when one of our staff members took them in from a neighbor who threw them away, giving them the safe start they needed. Wilma is a happy, spirited puppy with a playful personality all her own. She loves to bounce, explore, and share her joy with everyone she meets. Just like her sister, she’s already begun her protocols to get ready for adoption, showing she’s well on her way to becoming the perfect family companion. With her affectionate nature and puppy charm, Wilma is ready to grow into a loyal, loving friend. She’ll bring laughter, warmth, and endless tail wags to any home lucky enough to welcome her. 💖

Xander’s journey is one of courage and compassion. Born around November 2022, he was found in the La Mission area after being hit by a car. Bienstar was called to help, but when they said there was nothing they could do and left him behind, our founder couldn’t turn away. She went to him, and found Xander crying in pain, desperate for someone to care.vX-rays revealed fractures in his hips and calcification in his spine. Despite these challenges, our vet is hopeful that with time and treatment, Xander will walk again — and we’ve already seen encouraging improvements in just a short period.vThrough it all, Xander has shown a gentle spirit and remarkable resilience. He is now safe, undergoing protocols, and beginning his healing journey. While he is not yet ready for adoption, Xander would benefit greatly from a local foster home where he can rest, recover, and feel the love he has always deserved.
