  • Archie - Adoption Pending - Lake Country, B.C.

Approx. D.O.B.December 2017. Archie is a sweet, sensitive soul who’s been through a lot. Originally brought to Mexico from Canada by a loving owner, Archie’s life took a turn when his person faced a divorce and had to prepare for a major life change. She made the heartbreaking decision to rehome him, knowing she could no longer provide the stability and support he needs to thrive. Archie is a lively little chihuahua with a big heart and a zest for life. Archie is well-trained and incredibly affectionate. He thrives on companionship and he has a heart full of love. His affection runs deep and he bonds closely with his person. and feels most secure when he's around his person. Because of that strong connection, being apart can be hard for him—he’ll "sing" a bit if left behind, just to say he misses you. He’s working through some worries, especially around being apart, but with a steady, loving presence, he blossoms. With his spirited energy and curious nature, Archie would be a wonderful match for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and can include him in their daily adventures. Whether it’s a retired couple who love to go for lots of walks or play in the yard, or someone who works from home and appreciates a loyal sidekick. Archie is happiest when he’s part of the action. He’s ready to be your devoted little shadow, bringing joy wherever he goes.

  • Cachito

Cachito’s story began in Mezcales, where he was found poisoned near a pile of garbage — discarded, but not defeated. Thanks to the shelter’s quick action, this scrappy little fighter pulled through. And now, after an outrageously long time of tail wags, zoomies, and hopeful glances, he’s still waiting for someone to see the gem he truly is. Born around January 2024, Cachito is a joyful mix of energy and affection. He’s got the zoomies down to an art form, loves his walks, and will happily shower you with kisses before flopping down for a cuddle. He’s playful, sweet, and full of life — the kind of dog who makes every day feel like a celebration. He’s been living in an outdoor shelter, so home life will be new to him. But with a little patience and a lot of love, he’ll learn the ropes — and probably teach you a few things about resilience and joy along the way. Cachito isn’t just looking for a home. He’s looking for someone who sees his past, honors his spirit, and wants to help him write the next chapter — one filled with belly rubs, adventures, and unconditional love.

  • Cali (aka Calixto) - Adoption Pending - Winnipeg, MB

Calixto—aka Cali—is the kind of dog who makes you smile before you even say hello. This pint-sized gentleman was found in San JosĆ© by a kind woman who cared for him for a week, hoping someone would come forward. No one did, and when she couldn’t keep him, she asked for our help. That was a long time ago… and Cali’s still waiting. Born around October 2021, Cali is a sweet, cuddly companion who loves hanging out with people and soaking up affection. He’s got a whole catalog of facial expressions—curious, cheeky, thoughtful, surprised—and each one is cuter than the last. Truly, this guy is a character. Cali likes his space and isn’t one for doggy drama, but he tolerates the other pups at the shelter just fine. He currently lives in an outdoor shelter and has never known what it’s like to live inside a home. He’ll need a little help learning the ropes—things like house training, routines, and cozy couch naps—but he’s ready to try, and we know he’ll thrive with love and patience. He’s been at our shelter for so, so long, and we think it’s high time this little legend got the happy ending he deserves.

If you’re ready for a loyal sidekick with charm, cuddles, and a face full of personality, Cali’s waiting to meet you.

  • Capone - Adoption Pending - Sooke, B.C.

Approx. D.O.B. July 2022. A woman asked for help. A big dog had attacked Capone, and shook him. He had no big injuries, maybe some pain and some little injuries on the leg but otherwise luckily ok. Capone is good with other dogs. He's a happy, social boy and loves to play and be cuddled. He is an easy dog.

  • Cece - Adoption Pending - Edmonton, AB

Cece’s story starts near the airport in Puerto Vallarta, where she was spotted trotting down the street with a collar and a hopeful sparkle in her eye. A kind stranger called the number on her tag… but the voice on the other end said she wasn’t theirs. So Cece became ours — and now she’s ready to become yours.

Born around October 2022, Cece is a petite bundle of sweetness. She’s gentle, friendly, and has that quiet charm that makes everyone fall for her. Whether she’s curled up beside you or trotting around with her tail wagging, Cece is simply a joy to be around. She’s the kind of dog who makes you wonder how you ever lived without her — and she’s waiting to write her next chapter with someone who sees just how special she is.

  • Cheetos

Chetos came to Puppyland under heartbreaking circumstances. His mom Dorita and brother Chester were part of a litter threatened by a cruel landlord who had already killed three puppies. A kind woman stepped in and saved Chetos just in time — and he’s been waiting patiently for a safe, loving home to call his own.

Born around March 2024, Chetos is a calm, friendly soul who gets along beautifully with other dogs. He loves to play, be petted, and — adorably — carried. He walks like a pro on a leash and enjoys strolling side-by-side with his canine pals, making him a dream companion for outings and adventures. Chetos has spent his life in an outdoor shelter, so home life will be new to him. But his gentle nature and easygoing spirit make him a wonderful candidate for learning the ropes. He’s ready to trade shelter dust for cozy blankets, and uncertainty for unconditional love. If you’re looking for a dog who’s survived hardship with grace and still believes in kindness, Chetos is your guy. He doesn’t ask for much — just a chance to be safe, loved, and finally home!

  • Chico

Approx. D.O.B. January 2010 (He is a Senior). Someone found this old guy in a canal in a neighborhood behind Sam's Club. Chico is healthy, he just has some issues because he is old; can't see very well or hear very well. He is a typical old man... calm and and can be grumpy.

  • Denzel

Born around April 2025 and found wandering the streets alone, Denzel’s story took a hopeful turn when someone brought him straight to one of our founder’s doors—like a little gift wrapped in fur and curiosity. Since then, he’s been lighting up our shelter with his black-and-white charm and boundless puppy energy.

Denzel is a playful dynamo who adores playing with other dogs and turning any patch of gravel into a playground. He’s got a high-energy spirit and a heart full of love, but he’s still learning that leashes aren’t scary and that humans can be gentle guides. He’s great with adults, though he’s a little shy around children—just needs time and kindness to feel safe. After a lengthy stay in our outdoor shelter, Denzel still hasn’t experienced the magic of a real home. He doesn’t know what a couch feels like, or how wonderful it is to nap in a sunbeam by the window. But he’s ready. Ready to learn, to trust, and to love with everything he’s got. If you’re looking for a puppy with a playful soul and a heart waiting to bloom, Denzel is ready for his close-up—and a forever family to call his own.

  • Duquesa

Duquesa didn’t arrive at the shelter alone — she came with a royal entourage in her belly. Rescued from the San Jose Plaza while pregnant, this beautiful girl gave birth to six bouncing pups (Dax, Donato, Dalton, Dawson, Dante & Domino) and handled motherhood like the noble lady she is. Born around February 2021, Duquesa is social, affectionate, and just the right amount of sassy. She’s a good little dog with a big heart — loves to play, adores people, and sometimes even gets along with other dogs (depending on their vibe, of course — a queen has standards). She’s been living in an outdoor shelter for way to long, so she’ll need a bit of help adjusting to home life. But with patience, love, and maybe a few treats, she’ll be ruling your couch in no time. Duquesa is ready to retire her crown and become someone’s loyal sidekick. If you’re looking for a dog who’s survived the streets, raised a royal litter, and still has plenty of love to give — Duquesa is waiting to meet you.

  • Gomita - Adoption Pending - Chemainus,B.C.

Approx. D.O.B. February 2025. She was rescued off a street in PV. Had some ticks and fleas. She is a happy puppy. Good with other dogs.

  • Gonzo

Meet Gonzo — small-to-medium in size, but large in personality. Born around December 2024 and rescued near the shelter with his mom Gypsi and five equally adorable siblings, Gonzo has been causing mild mayhem and stealing hearts ever since. He’s an active, happy pup who loves other dogs, learning new tricks, and splashing in any body of water he can find (puddle, bucket, ocean — he’s not picky). He’s smart, curious, and has the kind of energy that makes you say, ā€œOh no,ā€ and then immediately, ā€œOkay fine, I love you.ā€ Gonzo is what we lovingly call a tiny hurricane of joy. He’ll put your hair up (literally and metaphorically), rearrange your shoes, and possibly redecorate your living room with a single zoomie. But he’ll also curl up next to you like a warm, fuzzy apology and gaze at you with eyes that say, ā€œI just want to be happy — and maybe chew that pillow.ā€ He rides well in the car, loves the beach, and is ready to graduate from outdoor shelter life to full-time family member. He’ll need help learning the ropes of home life, but with a little guidance and a lot of love, Gonzo will be the best kind of trouble you’ve ever invited in. Adopt Gonzo. Your hair might never be the same, but your heart will thank you.

  • Goofy

Born July 29, 2024. Goofy's, siblings are Dory, Pearl & Pluto and his mom is Muneca. He is a happy and healthy guy!

  • June

June was first spotted wandering near San Vicente, alone but dignified. A kind man stepped in to help, and she began her journey with us being one of our community service dogs and eventually, she came into our care, and we’ve been lucky to know her ever since. Born around June 2022, June is the definition of a lady. She’s quiet, sweet, and wonderfully well-mannered. She adores people and has a gentle way of making you feel seen and loved without saying a word. Whether she’s sitting calmly beside you or greeting you with soft eyes and a wagging tail, June brings peace wherever she goes. She’s not flashy. She’s not loud. But she’s unforgettable. June is ready for a home where kindness flows freely and quiet moments are cherished. If you’re looking for a companion who will love you with quiet devotion and grace, June is waiting.

  • Muneca - Adoption Pending - Edmonton, AB

Approx. D.O.B. January 2022. She was found on the street July 28, 2024; the next day she had babies (Dory, Goofy, Pearl & Pluto). Happy and social. Her foster says she is good with dogs and children. She good on a lead and travelling in a car. She is also house trained.

  • Pearl - Adoption Pending - Spring Lake, AB

Born July 29, 2024. Pearl's, siblings are Dory, Goofy & Pluto. Mom is Muneca.

  • Pipo

Pipo’s journey began on the streets, where he and his buddy Tofu were found by a kind-hearted girl who couldn’t walk away. She scooped them up and brought them to safety and since then, Pipo has been quietly waiting for someone to see the magic in his soft eyes and shy smile. Born around May 2022, Pipo is a black and white pug with impeccable manners and a tender spirit. He’s well-behaved, sweet, and a little timid at first — the kind of dog who takes a moment to trust, but once he does, he’ll melt into your lap like he was always meant to be there. Pipo is afraid of other dogs and can be reactive, so he’ll thrive in a calm, dog-free home where he can feel safe and supported. He’s been living in an outdoor shelter, so home life will be new to him — but with patience, kindness, and a cozy spot to call his own, he’ll blossom. If you’re looking for a quiet companion with a gentle heart and a face that could launch a thousand ā€œawws,ā€ Pipo is ready to meet you. He doesn’t need much — just love, understanding, and a chance to finally exhale.

  • Pluto

Born July 29, 2024. Pluto's, siblings are Dory, Goofy & Pearl. His Mom is Muneca.

  • Pulga - Adoption Pending - Kelowna, B.C.

Pulga’s story begins on the streets, scared and vulnerable. She was in heat, surrounded by aggressive dogs, her body marked with scabs from bites and her spirit shaken. But even then, she held onto something soft inside — a quiet hope for safety, for kindness, for home. Born around August 2015, Pulga is a senior girl with a heart full of grace. She’s completely house trained, sleeps soundly, and has a special love for burrowing under the covers — a little cocoon where she feels safe and warm. She’s not a barker, not a whirlwind, not a dog who demands attention. She simply wants peace, gentle affection, and a place where she can finally exhale. Pulga gets along well with calm companions, but if one of the ā€œcrazy onesā€ bumps into her, she’ll let out a single bark — a dignified protest from a lady who’s earned her boundaries. She’s not grumpy, just honest. And after all she’s been through, she deserves that respect. She’s ready for a quiet home, a soft bed, and a human who understands that love doesn’t always come with fireworks — sometimes it’s found in the quiet moments, the gentle glances, the shared stillness. Pulga has survived the chaos. Now she’s ready for calm. Could you be her safe place?

  • Quesito

Born around January 2025, Quesito came into the world with a full house — his mom Quitin and five equally adorable siblings: Queen, Quico, Quillo, Quimi, and Quinto. Since then, he’s been growing into one seriously handsome pup with a personality that’s impossible to ignore. Quesito is energetic, affectionate, and always ready to play. Whether it’s zooming around with other dogs or charming humans with his goofy grin, he’s got a zest for life that’s contagious. He’s the kind of dog who makes you smile just by being near — a tail-wagging reminder that joy can be found in the simplest moments. He’s been at the shelter for way too long, living outdoors and dreaming of soft beds, belly rubs, and a family to call his own. Home life will be new to him, so he’ll need a little guidance — but with his playful spirit and loving heart, he’s more than ready to learn. Quesito isn’t just beautiful on the outside — he’s pure sunshine on the inside. If you’re looking for a dog who’ll fill your days with laughter, cuddles, and unconditional love, Quesito is waiting to meet you.

  • Quimi

Quimi was born around January 2025, one of six puppies rescued alongside their brave mom, Quitin. From the start, he’s stood out — not just because he’s too big for a handbag, but because he’s got a heart that’s even bigger. Quimi is a happy, playful, and active pup with a quiet side that makes him easy to love. He gets along beautifully with other dogs and enjoys friendly playtime without the chaos. He’s the kind of dog who brings joy without demanding the spotlight — just a nice guy looking for a soft place to land. He’s been living in an outdoor shelter for all of his days, so home life will be new to him. But with patience, kindness, and a comfy bed, Quimi is ready to learn what it means to be part of a family. If you’re looking for a dog who’s sweet, social, and just the right mix of fun and chill — Quimi is waiting to meet you. He may be too big for a bag, but he’s just the right size for your heart.

  • Riley

Riley is a maltese poodle mix that was found in Paraiso near Altavela, quietly waiting for someone to notice him. One of our amazing volunteers did — and asked us to help. Since then, Riley’s been showing us what a truly perfect companion looks like. Born around September 2024, Riley is the kind of dog who makes life easier and sweeter. He’s house-trained, calm, and doesn’t bark or make a mess. He’s gentle, affectionate, and happiest curled up near you, radiating quiet love. His foster mom calls him ā€œa dream dogā€ — and we agree. The only thing Riley’s still working on is walking on a lead. It’s not his favorite activity (yet), but his foster is patiently helping him learn, one step at a time.

If you’re looking for a peaceful, loving soul to share your home and heart, Riley might just be your perfect match.

  • Robbie

Approx. D.O.B. October 2022. He was rescued by an independent rescuer who asked us for help.

  • Rudolf

Approx. D.O.B. July 2023 - He was rescued by a woman by Telmex in Bucerias. A kid had left him there.

  • Simon

Simon arrived with a rough case of mange and a tail full of tumors — but thanks to loving care, his skin is healing beautifully and his tail (now amputated) is no longer a source of pain. Born around April 2019, this little guy has come a long way, and he’s ready to settle into the peaceful home he deserves. Simon is quiet, shy, and so incredibly sweet. He’s house trained, walks like a dream, and doesn’t mind other dogs — though he prefers calm companions over puppies or high-energy pups. He’s the kind of dog who does his own thing at home, heading straight to his bed to chill like a seasoned nap professional. He’s currently with a foster and has already claimed his favorite sleeping spot. He loves affection, enjoys being picked up, and is perfectly fine with baths. He also requires thyroid medication, but he takes it like a champ. And separation anxiety? Not in Simon’s vocabulary. Leave the house, come back hours later — he’ll still be snoozing in the same spot, blissfully unaware you ever left. Simon may be missing a tail, but he’s full of heart. If you’re looking for a calm, cuddly companion who asks for very little and gives back so much, Simon is waiting with his bed fluffed and his heart open.

  • Winni

Approx. D.O.B. July 2022 - Winni, was rescued pregnant. Winni had 3 girls and 2 boys on July 13, 2025. She is so pretty. Winni is a super happy pup who loves being around people, soaking up affection, and sharing her cheerful energy. She’s social, playful, and gets along well with other dogs. And yes, she’s a little chatterbox when she’s excited—but it’s just her way of saying ā€œI love you!ā€ Winni is currently living in an outdoor shelter in Nayarit, Mexico, so she’ll need a little guidance with house training—but she’s smart, eager to please, and ready to learn. She’s the kind of dog who makes life lighter: easygoing, affectionate, and always up for a snuggle or an adventure. She’s waiting for a family who’ll see her not just as a rescue, but as a radiant little soul ready to brighten their world.

  • Ziggy
