  • Althea

Althea’s journey began on the streets of La Desembocada, where she was found in rough shape—covered in fleas and ticks, tired, and in need of care. Despite her hard start, this sweet little girl has blossomed into an adorable, gentle companion with a heart full of love.

    • Personality: Althea is a very quiet, calm soul. She’s nervous around new dogs but quickly shows her gentle nature once she feels safe. She’s wonderful company—content to simply be near you and soak up the peace of a kind presence.

    • Favorite Things: Car rides are her happy place! She loves watching the world go by from the passenger seat.

    • Motherhood: On October 24, 2025, Althea gave birth to three puppies. Only one little girl, Hope, survived, and Althea has proven herself to be an incredible mom—always alert, protective, and tender with her baby.

    • Age: Approximately born in August 2022.

    • Shelter Life: Althea has been at the shelter for 100 days. She’s still nursing Hope, but she can already be reserved for adoption and will be ready to go home once her baby no longer needs her. Because she’s been living in an outdoor shelter, she’ll need a patient adopter to help her learn the comforts of home life.

    Why Adopt Althea?

She’s a survivor, a devoted mother, and a gentle spirit who deserves a safe, loving home. With kindness and patience, Althea will blossom into the perfect companion—calm, loyal, and forever grateful.

  • Cappuccino aka Dennis - Available in Calgary, AB area

Cappuccino is a senior sweetheart with a big story to tell. Born around July 2015, he was found bravely navigating traffic in Nuevo, but no owner ever came forward. Since then, he’s been given a second chance in foster care—and he’s showing just how much love he has to give. This handsome boy may have a touch of grumpiness at times, but don’t let that fool you—he absolutely adores cuddles and thrives on affection. His favorite things? Toys and a good game of fetch with his ball! With the right person, Cappuccino’s playful side shines bright. Thanks to patient foster parents, he’s already made wonderful progress. As of December 2025, he’s more relaxed, affectionate, and showing his true sweet nature every day. He’s medium energy, loves his toys, and will flourish with an experienced dog owner who understands his quirks and can guide him with kindness and consistency. Cappuccino prefers a calm home without children and is selective with other dogs, but for the right person, he’ll be the most loyal and loving companion. He’s waiting for someone who sees past the rough start and is ready to give him the forever home he deserves.

  • Chelo

Chelo’s life began on the streets, where she faced more danger than any young dog should. She was rescued just in time, pulled away from six dogs that were trying to jump on her while she was in heat. Born around August 2023, Chelo is still very young, but she already carries the spirit of a survivor. Despite her rough start, Chelo is full of energy and joy. She’s an active, playful girl who loves to interact with her surroundings and enjoys the company of other dogs. Like many rescues, she’s still learning the art of socialization, but her sweet nature shines through in every wag of her tail. Chelo is simply a nice dog—curious, affectionate, and eager to connect with people who show her kindness.Right now, Chelo lives in an outdoor shelter, which means she hasn’t yet experienced the comforts of a home. She will need patience and guidance to learn house life, but with consistency and love, she will blossom into a loyal companion. Chelo is ready for her second chance. She’s looking for someone who sees her potential, values her playful spirit, and is willing to give her the safe, happy home she deserves.

  • Cheetos - Adoption Pending - Calgary, AB

Chetos came to Puppyland under heartbreaking circumstances. His mom Dorita and brother Chester were part of a litter threatened by a cruel landlord who had already killed three puppies. A kind woman stepped in and saved Chetos just in time — and he’s been waiting patiently for a safe, loving home to call his own.

Born around March 2024, Chetos is a calm, friendly soul who gets along beautifully with other dogs. He loves to play, be petted, and — adorably — carried. He walks like a pro on a leash and enjoys strolling side-by-side with his canine pals, making him a dream companion for outings and adventures. Chetos has spent his life in an outdoor shelter, so home life will be new to him. But his gentle nature and easygoing spirit make him a wonderful candidate for learning the ropes. He’s ready to trade shelter dust for cozy blankets, and uncertainty for unconditional love. If you’re looking for a dog who’s survived hardship with grace and still believes in kindness, Chetos is your guy. He doesn’t ask for much — just a chance to be safe, loved, and finally home!

  • Chico

Approx. D.O.B. January 2010 (He is a Senior). Someone found this old guy in a canal in a neighborhood behind Sam's Club. Chico is healthy, he just has some issues because he is old; can't see very well or hear very well. He is a typical old man... calm and and can be grumpy.

  • Corinne - Adoption Pending - Vernon, B.C.

Meet Corinne, our tiny senior sweetheart, born around September 2015. This brave little explorer was found waiting at a front door, as if she knew she belonged with people who would care for her. Despite her cataracts and limited vision, Corinne’s adventurous spirit shines through. She loves being around people, is gentle with other dogs, and enjoys life at her own easy pace. She’s pee‑pad trained, comfortable going outside, and walks nicely on a lead. Traveling is no problem for her—she’s a calm companion wherever you go. Corinne is low‑energy, but her heart is full of courage and love. She’s the kind of dog who will happily curl up beside you, join you for a stroll, or simply brighten your day with her presence.

✨ If you’re looking for a loyal little friend who’s already mastered the art of companionship, Corinne is ready to bring joy and warmth into her forever home.

  • Devin - Available in Prince Albert, SK

Devin’s journey began at Lago Real mall, where a homeless gentleman was doing his best to care for him. This pint-sized pup had a broken jaw — likely from being hit by a car — and arrived at our rescue scared and fragile. Born around August 2023, Devin has come a long way since those early days. With gentle care and time, he’s blossomed into a happy, playful little guy who loves life and brings joy wherever he goes. He’s small, but his spirit is mighty. And those eyes? One brown, one blue — a little patchwork of magic that stops you in your tracks and makes you fall in love on the spot. In foster care, Devin has shown how comfortable he is with big dogs and loves dogs of all sizes, happily fitting right in. His housetraining is progressing: He is going outside but was marking (could be due to a new male foster coming in); He is doing it less and less now - It’s also been very cold, but he will go outside and there is another recent male foster in the house as well. Devin is sweet-natured, friendly, and ready to find a home where he can keep growing into the confident, cuddly companion he was always meant to be. If you’re looking for a tiny treasure with a story of resilience and a heart full of love, Devin is waiting to meet you.

  • Fito aka Frito

Born around January 2020, Fito’s story began quietly — just like him. He was found sitting calmly outside a house, hoping for kindness. The people there said he wasn’t theirs, but someone saw his gentle soul and made sure he wouldn’t be forgotten. Now safe at an outdoor shelter, Fito is patiently waiting for a family to see what we see: a sweet, affectionate boy who adores cuddles, gentle pets, and simply being near you. He’s calm, loving, and full of quiet gratitude — the kind of dog who makes you feel peaceful just by being in the room. Fito is about 80% housetrained and learning fast. He’s also great to walk — steady, curious, and happy to be by your side. He’ll may need a little help finishing up his house training if he is adopted soon, but his heart is already house-ready: soft, loyal, and eager to belong. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who will love you with every ounce of his being, Fito might just be your perfect match.

  • Gonzo

Meet Gonzo — small-to-medium in size, but large in personality. Born around December 2024 and rescued near the shelter with his mom Gypsi and five equally adorable siblings, Gonzo has been causing mild mayhem and stealing hearts ever since. He’s an active, happy pup who loves other dogs, learning new tricks, and splashing in any body of water he can find (puddle, bucket, ocean — he’s not picky). He’s smart, curious, and has the kind of energy that makes you say, “Oh no,” and then immediately, “Okay fine, I love you.” Gonzo is what we lovingly call a tiny hurricane of joy. He’ll put your hair up (literally and metaphorically), rearrange your shoes, and possibly redecorate your living room with a single zoomie. But he’ll also curl up next to you like a warm, fuzzy apology and gaze at you with eyes that say, “I just want to be happy — and maybe chew that pillow.” He rides well in the car, loves the beach, and is ready to graduate from outdoor shelter life to full-time family member. He’ll need help learning the ropes of home life, but with a little guidance and a lot of love, Gonzo will be the best kind of trouble you’ve ever invited in. Adopt Gonzo. Your hair might never be the same, but your heart will thank you.

  • Pipo

She scooped them up and brought them to safety and since then, Pipo has been quietly waiting for someone to see the magic in his soft eyes and shy smile. Born around May 2022, Pipo is a black and white pug with impeccable manners and a tender spirit. He’s well-behaved, sweet, and a little timid at first — the kind of dog who takes a moment to trust, but once he does, he’ll melt into your lap like he was always meant to be there. Pipo is afraid of other dogs and can be reactive, so he’ll thrive in a calm, dog-free home where he can feel safe and supported. He’s been living in an outdoor shelter, so home life will be new to him — but with patience, kindness, and a cozy spot to call his own, he’ll blossom. If you’re looking for a quiet companion with a gentle heart and a face that could launch a thousand “awws,” Pipo is ready to meet you. Since then, he’s been growing into one seriously handsome pup with a personality that’s impossible to ignore. Quesito is energetic, affectionate, and always ready to play. Whether it’s zooming around with other dogs or charming humans with his goofy grin, he’s got a zest for life that’s contagious. He’s the kind of dog who makes you smile just by being near — a tail-wagging reminder that joy can be found in the simplest moments. He’s been at the shelter for way too long, living outdoors and dreaming of soft beds, belly rubs, and a family to call his own. Home life will be new to him, so he’ll need a little guidance — but with his playful spirit and loving heart, he’s more than ready to learn. Quesito isn’t just beautiful on the outside — he’s pure sunshine on the inside. • Quimi

Quimi was born around January 2025, one of six puppies rescued alongside their brave mom, Quitin. From the start, he’s stood out — not just because he’s too big for a handbag, but because he’s got a heart that’s even bigger. Quimi is a happy, playful, and active pup with a quiet side that makes him easy to love. He gets along beautifully with other dogs and enjoys friendly playtime without the chaos. He’s the kind of dog who brings joy without demanding the spotlight — just a nice guy looking for a soft place to land. He’s been living in an outdoor shelter for all of his days, so home life will be new to him. But with patience, kindness, and a comfy bed, Quimi is ready to learn what it means to be part of a family. If you’re looking for a dog who’s sweet, social, and just the right mix of fun and chill — Quimi is waiting to meet you. He may be too big for a bag, but he’s just the right size for your heart.

  • Rudolf - Adoption Pending - New Westminster, B.C.

Rudolf’s story began on a quiet street in Bucerias, where he was left behind near the Telmex building—abandoned by a child, unsure of what he’d done to deserve it. He waited, tan and timid, until a kind woman saw past the stillness and chose to act. That moment turned a forgotten pup into a rescue with promise.

Born around July 2023, Rudolf—nicknamed Deer for his soft gaze and graceful presence—is a beautiful blend of sweetness and spunk. Though shy at first, he’s bursting with energy once he feels safe. He loves to play, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and melts into cuddles like he’s been waiting his whole life for them. Rudolf is currently residing in a loving foster home, where he’s impressing his foster family with his wonderful manners, gentle nature, and sweet disposition and doing very well with the other dogs in the home. He’s settling into home life beautifully and continues to show just how ready he is to be someone’s loyal companion. This boy doesn’t just want a home—he wants someone who sees him the way that rescuer did: as worthy, wonderful, and ready for a second chance. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a high-energy heart and a soul full of softness, Rudolf might just be your perfect match.

  • Simon

Simon arrived with a rough case of mange and a tail full of tumors — but thanks to loving care, his skin is healing beautifully and his tail (now amputated) is no longer a source of pain. Born around April 2019, this little guy has come a long way, and he’s ready to settle into the peaceful home he deserves. Simon is quiet, shy, and so incredibly sweet. He’s house trained, walks like a dream, and doesn’t mind other dogs — though he prefers calm companions over puppies or high-energy pups. He’s the kind of dog who does his own thing at home, heading straight to his bed to chill like a seasoned nap professional. He’s currently with a foster and has already claimed his favorite sleeping spot. He loves affection, enjoys being picked up, and is perfectly fine with baths. He also requires thyroid medication, but he takes it like a champ. And separation anxiety? Not in Simon’s vocabulary. Leave the house, come back hours later — he’ll still be snoozing in the same spot, blissfully unaware you ever left. Simon may be missing a tail, but he’s full of heart. If you’re looking for a calm, cuddly companion who asks for very little and gives back so much, Simon is waiting with his bed fluffed and his heart open.
