Approx. D.O.B. January 2010 (He is a Senior). Someone found this old guy in a canal in a neighborhood behind Sam's Club. Chico is healthy, he just has some issues because he is old; can't see very well or hear very well. He is a typical old man... calm and and can be grumpy.

Approx. D.O.B. November 2023. From his foster Mom, "Our little Digby needs his forever home. He has been with us in Calgary since April 9th, since he came from Mexico as a foster from Salty Dog Rescue. Digby (who is listed as ‘CJ’ on the Salty Dog Rescue website) is a Pug/Chihuahua X, and is a year and a half old. He is a small dog, smaller than a typical pug, with the colouring and fur type of a pug, and the personality of a chihuahua! He is GREAT with children! What a funny little guy Digby is! He has become waaaay too attached to me as his caregiver (and possibly me to him as well!

). He does need a home that he will be able to have that close bond with his owner without great competition, because he does love to get ALLLLL the lovin’ for himself! lol. But he does enjoy other dogs to play chase with, and cuddles up with the other chihuahua that came from the rescue with him. He walks well on a leash, has learned to sit for a treat, and is fairly well housetrained. He needs someone with the patience to let him settle in, because he has become quite anxious when I am away from him. But that is why I am really hoping we can find this sweet boy his forever home sooner, rather than later. Bonding with his owner while he is still young, and adjusting to that home is what this little man truly deserves. He LOVES to cuddle, he is very much a lap dog, and likes to go for car rides with his person. Digby is such an amazing companion dog.

Duquesa is the Mom and she had the 6 puppies on Feb. 14/24. Donato, is one of the puppies that she had. He is adorable, playful & happy dog! So smart, learns quick!

D.O.B. Approx. May 2020. Pedrito is a Belgian Shepherd Malinois. From his foster parent, "I call him Pedro. He is a funny boy, and now he is settled inhere with me and is starting to show what a good guy he can be. He loves to be petted, especially his ears, and just loves to be rubbed. Likes belly rubs, of course. He is a bit frustrating to walk because so much peemail needs answering. So if you're trying to go somewhere, it is an adventure. He likes to walk and run, we do about 3-5 km per day. I take him everywhere, and he really likes truck rides. I take him to restaurants and to bars with no problems. He is great with any dog that doesn't try to be a bully and is aggressive with him. His time in the shelter made him a scrapper and given a chance he would I think. But I keep him firmly in hand and it's little problem. When I first got him he would go out of his mind if he was rushed by big dogs. Now not so much, he understands that I keep him safe, so it's ok to be interested rather than prepared to scrap. The dogs that live around us are generally benign but there are a few behind fences or on chains that are not. He loves his food a lot, not so much store-bought kibble, but the food I make him instead, full of meats and veggies with rice. He loves cottage cheese and Greek yogurt. I give those to him as snacks in the afternoon after our walk in the hot sun. He has come to love treats, especially real dried meat or pig's ears. He eats very regular and about an hour after breakfast, he needs a walk to do his business. Usually, another walk to take care of things before bed helps. He is learning to be a nice dog and he listens really well in either Spanish or English. He is bilingual. He loves to cuddle on the couch with me and lays down beside my chair when I relax in my yard, in my hammock or indeed while having a beer. He is going to be somebody's buddy, and they will be happy to have him.
