Daysi
Approx. D.O.B. January 2021. When Daysi was found she had milk and the rescuer was worried there were puppies out there. Two people from the rescue took Daysi back to where she was rescued on a long leash and followed her. She took them straight to her house in Jarretaderas to her 9 puppies. They had a home but it was unfortunately a home where no care and necessities were provided. They were living in the middle of garbage. Daysi is active. She likes to be a leader and likes to be out and go for walks. She is good with others but is comfy little by little.. She was the sweetest most attentive Mom while with her babies!
Dozer
Approx. D.O.B. March 2023. Dozer, was found on the road in San Vicente as just a tiny puppy. Dozer he is a little character but adorable. He is a puppy and likes to be a trouble maker. Alone he is the best dog, with other dogs he tends to be a ring leader. He is good with other dog's. He isn't a fan of ther dog's by his food.
Luna - Available inVancouver
Luna's approx. D.O.B. is May 2021.
Hello and welcome to my bio! My name is Luna, and I’m a 55 lb Shepherd mix (the perfect size for those who love Shepherd’s but want the breed in a more pint-sized package!). I was rescued
near Bucerias, Mexico and spent about a year being cared for by Salty Dog Rescue before being flown to my foster home in Vancouver, Canada. I am such a gem of a girl, that my foster parents, when they met me in Bucerias, had me specially flown to Vancouver so they could foster me 😊.I bond very quickly with those that care for me and love me. Right from the start, my foster parents have been amazed by how easy I am to train! I respond to various kinds of commands
intuitively and willingly, as I am always eager to please my leader(s). I already know how to trot beside my foster Mom’s bike when she rides, I taught myself how to swim, fetch and catch a frisbee (amazing, right!). I am already trained to heel on-leash and am practicing heeling off-leash. Recall is no problem for me because I always want to be close to my pack leader(s)!Even though I love long walks, bike rides, hikes, and outdoor time, I am, ironically, very relaxed when hanging around at home. I’m truly a gentle and loving soul who will take any
opportunity to cuddle and have my belly rubbed by any one of my pack members. Outdoors, I can be comical and klutzy as I throw myself into new experiences
(and bodies of water) with fearless gusto! I may have started out on the street, but that didn’t dampen my spirit as a bright and positive doggie spirit who is ready to take on the world!I have learned to meet all kinds of other dogs in a mostly polite manner. I do sometimes greet other pups with a little too much enthusiasm (comin’ in hot!) at the beginning of walks when I
have tons of energy, but within 30 minutes I can take on the manners of a true princess (patience people, I’m basically a puppy!). I’m still learning how to ‘play’ with other dogs, and I can sometimes mix up the signals and get triggered into nervous behaviours that can be misinterpreted by other pups – though never to any disastrous results. Among the other few ‘edges’ my foster pack leaders are getting me to practice smoothing, is my nervousness around meeting new humans. I tend to lure them in with my wagging tail and affectionate energy, and when they get close, I give little warning barks that can make them jump! However, if ‘strange’ human visitors hang around for a bit, I warm up pretty darn quickly and start looking for cuddles. My foster parents are working on these few little ‘nervous behaviours’, and I’m making such great progress they think a ‘forever pack leader’ could easily pick up where they leave off. I basically tick all the boxes for a wonderful ‘rescue dog’.I would love a forever home with a pack leader who is familiar with my working-dog breed, as I love lots of exercise, stimulation, and spending time in the great outdoors (any nature
jocks out there?!). I would prefer a home with adults and older children, as sometimes small children make me nervous (if they’re nervous) and I don’t want to accidentally scare any small people with my nervous barks (though I would never, ever hurt them). I get along with all kinds of other dogs – big, small, puppies, seniors - but I can’t help but dream of being a pack’s ‘number one’ (a
position currently held by my 18 lb terrier foster-sibling. Sigh). Though not mandatory, I do think I would really suit being the only dog in my forever home. Okay, I confess, I’m a bit of a princess 😉. However, I can envision a few cats as packmates, since these perplexing creatures fascinate me, I’m gentle with them, and I don’t chase them - maybe we could be friends?I really hope you will consider meeting me. I know I will make an amazing addition to a new forever pack, for the right pack leader(s)! My foster parents can’t believe how lucky those folks will be once they realize I’m the right fit for them, and they look forward to meeting you too 😊.
Paloma
Approx.D.O.B. January 2017. She can be grumpy. She is not social. Just 2 or 3 dogs can be her friend at a time. Paloma would prefer a home where she is the only dog. She is very special but also is very sweet and loves to be close to her owner. She needs someone that will be patient with her. She is a good, sweet girl tht just needs some love and devotion.
Rony aka Osito
He is one of Daysi's puppies. They were born Dec. 14/23. They will be medium sized once full grown. Here is what his foster family has to say about him... "He has the most beautiful temperament. He sleeps with us in our bed all through the night since day 1. He hasn’t had a single accident in the house, he always goes on the pads we set out on our apartment balcony if he needs to go between walks. He has been doing really well on leash with a harness - although it’s going to take a lot of practice to keep him from pulling but it’s only a matter of time bc he’s such a smart lil guy. He’s friendly with all the dogs he meets along his walks. At home he loves chasing around ice cubes and chewing on little frozen slices of apples. Playing tug of war. He loves kiwi too. He gets a little Cheerio as a treat everytime he goes on his pad or outside :) we live on the 3rd floor of apartment building and he is a little timid going up and down the stairs but he’ll get there!"
Sophia
Sophia's approx. D.O.B. is April 2023. She is healthy and happy. Her foster parent says: "Smart pup. She is amazing. HAPPY all the time and gets along with all dogs. She is good on the leash. Affectionate and all around a good girl. She is full of energy and and loves to play with her foster siblings, when her foster siblings are tired she just keeps on playing quietly on her own. (6 foster siblings of varying age and sizes). She also loves to play with humans. She keeps herself entertained when everyone else is taking a break as she is very energetic. She has been going for morning walks with two of the bigger dogs with a dog walker that has them all trained on a leash and allows them off leash at the park or beach and they come back as soon as he calls. As I said she is full of energy and would love a yard and others to play with (human and dog). She has an injury to her lower back a few months ago and it affected her peeing. She usually goes outside (doors always open) to pee, but tends to start walking away before she finishes leaving a little trail behind. Like a pup if she gets excited she can sometimes pee on the spot wherever she is. The vet is hopefull she will gain better control as she grows."
Spunky
Approx. D.O.B. September 2023. He was found hit by a car outside the primary school in Bucerias off Estaciones. He had three breaks. Two in one back leg and one in the other back leg. He had plates installed in his leg. He’s recovering very well. Starting to walk and he eats very well. He wants to be out with the other dogs but needs to be kept clean as he still has an appliance in the one leg. He will have a small surgery to remove it in another week. He’s a really sweet pup and would love a forever home. He has started vaccination protocols and was neutered during the leg surgery.
Tina
Her approx. D.O.B. is Sept. 2016. Tina is just the sweetest girl! She would love a family to call her own. Very happy and social dog. She is a smart girl. Tina likes exercise. She is nice with other dogs, just no puppies or very active (crazy dogs). She likes to be close to people and sit with you to watch tv. Tina also loves snacks!
Vicenta
This pretty lady's approx. D.O.B. is November 2019. Vincenta is an active, social, happy dog! She is kenneled with other dogs and seems great with them. She walks perfectly on the leash. Sits for treats. Loves the car. Affectionate with people. Really smart. Vicenta, seems good with dogs of all sizes. Also fine with being bathed and loves having her hair brushed. Takes treats very gently. Loves giving her paw to you to hold.
Yang
This happy girl was born, September 2022. Just look at that adorable face! Cuteness overload! Her foster parents say that after three months they have noticed lots of changes and improvements. She is more confident; on the beach and off leash. She is slowly getting more comfortable with her foster Dad (she finds men a bit scary). Her foster Mom says, "She's doing way better of course, how could she behave any other way, she didn't know people and homes before." Yang, is learning new things and progressing more and more each day! She still has some separation anxiety. Yang, does love the car but she isn't really one to want to play with toys.
Ziret
Approx. D.O.B. May 2022. Ziret, was found on the highway with an injury around her neck. She is super sweet! Zirret is also pictured below with Robin. She is such a happy girl, active and loves to play! She really likes to play with her ball most of all! She can be with other dogs but she likes to be the queen. She is really smart and also enjoys walks.
