One quiet night on Calle Matamoros in Bucerías, Skipper and his buddy Gilligan appeared like a scene from a storybook—two sweet souls, abandoned outside one of our founder’s homes. Though they bore marks from being tied with wire or string, their eyes sparkled with trust, and their tails wagged with hope. No fleas, no ticks—just two clean, friendly pups who deserved so much better. Born around August 2024, Skipper has now spent over 300 days at our shelter. He’s a lively, lovable boy with energy to spare and a spirit that refuses to dim. He lives in a small kennel surrounded by other dogs, and while he walks on a leash just fine, he’s still learning that the world beyond the shelter can be safe and kind. He’s never known the comfort of a home, but he’s ready to discover it—with patience, love, and a little guidance. Skipper thrives on playtime and companionship.
