Rene’s story began in Jarratederas, where a kind woman fed him for months while he lived on the streets. When he fell ill, it was clear he needed more than food—he needed a chance. Rene battled distemper and survived, proving himself to be a true warrior with a heart full of hope. Today, he’s thriving, thanks to love, care, and a little daily medication to help calm the tremors left behind by his illness. Rene is sweet, cuddly, and absolutely amazing in every way. He’s also a king in his own right—confident, expressive, and full of personality. He enjoys short walks, gentle affection, and quiet companionship. While he can be playful in short bursts, his energy is best suited to a calm home without small children. He prefers to be the only dog, though he’ll tolerate respectful adult canine roommates. Currently living in an outdoor shelter, René is ready to learn the comforts of home life with someone patient and loving by his side. He’s hoping there’s a special someone out there who sees past the shakes and into the soul of a dog who’s overcome so much—and who’s ready to give his whole heart in return.
